Ginger and Baker

Our clients purchased the historic 1905 feeder building with dreams of building a quaint pie shop. The project grew into a multi-functional facility that catalyzed a neighborhood, The River District of Fort Collins, Colorado. Ginger and Baker is home to two restaurants, coffee shop, teaching kitchen, and two event spaces.
The design-build team worked strategically for over three years to bring the project to completion. The focus was to create a world-class, experienced based facility that brings to life the passion the client has for pie and hospitality.
The project has won two awards for historical preservation and design: Colorado Governor’s Award for Best Adaptive Re-use, and the Fort Collins Friends of Preservation Award.
Architecturally, the goal was highlight the original Feeder Building by juxtaposing the design of the addition and exposing as much of the original building as possible. The glass triangle shape was formed by peeling away the facade of the addition to allow people to view the south elevation of the original building.
