Scope of Work

New Build

Size

13,900 square feet

Design of the new space was framed by multiple client focused factors, such as community, patient efficiency, and maximizing daylight to all exam rooms and nurse stations. Light cannons were added to the roof to bring in daylight to the areas that were not near the perimeter of the building. The sophisticated office floorplan provided workflow for nurses w/ direct access to labs and exam rooms. Nurse stations were designed for quick collaboration moments with doctors. The main layout of exam rooms is based on a 3-1 ratio of exams to offices, which fit in with their new model of how their offices function, and the ideal of keeping ill patients out of the public waiting room as much as possible. Triage rooms were also provided for this use, keeping highly contagious patients out of public areas, and allowing a quick turnaround for simple appointments such as vaccine administration.

Warm materials provide a relaxed, comforting atmosphere and updated style to the AFM offices. Vaulted cedar ceilings provide warm ceiling finish in public areas and nurse stations, as well as bring daylight and interest into the ceiling plane. Frameless glass walls provide privacy while maintaining an open feel and visual connections. A folding glass wall opens the nurse breakroom to the exterior.
