This mountain retreat was designed for weekend getaways or even longer stays. Nestled into the landscape at the base of a mountain, the indoor and outdoor living areas are perched above the garage with a view of the beaver meadow below. Detailed surveying and hydrology testing of the site was done to ensure the meadow, which is a protected wetland area, would not be adversely affected by the construction of the new home.
The timber clad structure and stone veneered foundation were selected to help the form settle into its surroundings. The timber frame bridges the exterior walls connecting the inside and outside. The interior spaces feature stunning views of the surrounding mountains from every room. There’s a cozy reading nook tucked under the stairs. Skylight was built into the deck above to allow more natural light in the bedroom below and an access to the hot tub area.
