The Agricultural Heritage Center is a contemporary landmark rooted in history, designed to celebrate the region’s agricultural legacy while supporting its future. Located on a historically significant site, the new facility is conceived as a multifunctional hub—serving equally as an event venue, educational resource, and interpretive museum. Together, these programmatic elements create a place where community, culture, and innovation intersect.

The building is thoughtfully sited to respect existing historic structures and landscape patterns, reinforcing the site’s legacy while introducing a bold new architectural presence. Beyond the building itself, the property includes dedicated acreage for crop testing and research in partnership with the local university, creating a living laboratory that connects academic study with real-world agricultural practice. This working landscape allows visitors to experience agriculture not only as history, but as an evolving science.

Architecturally, the center is a modern reinterpretation of the classic lean-to barn typology. Simple, expressive forms, sloped rooflines, and honest materials recall familiar agricultural structures, while expansive glazing and contemporary detailing bring transparency and light into public spaces. The result is a building that feels both timeless and forward-looking—anchored in tradition yet clearly of today.

Inside, flexible gathering spaces support community events, lectures, and exhibitions, while museum areas showcase the stories, tools, and people that shaped the region’s agricultural identity. Together, the Agricultural Heritage Center stands as a place of learning, celebration, and connection—honoring the past while cultivating the future.
