Sky Pond – Remembering VFLA’s First LEED Certified Project

Located in Loveland, Colorado, the 30,000-square-foot Sky Pond Office Building marked the first LEED Silver Core and Shell certified project designed by VFLA Architecture + Interiors, demonstrating the firm’s early commitment to sustainable commercial architecture in Northern Colorado.

A Closer Look

Positioned at the edge of a prominent lifestyle center, the two-story office building was designed with a high-performance envelope, locally sourced materials, and water-efficient systems that support both indoor use and native landscaping. The second-floor tenant spaces maximize natural daylight, creating bright, energy-efficient work environments while reducing reliance on artificial lighting. Completed with Dohn Construction at an approximate $3 million construction cost, the project set an early benchmark for environmentally responsible office design in the Loveland and Fort Collins region.
